This Privacy Policy explains how BigPlants ("the app", "we", "us" or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and only collecting the data needed to provide and improve the app's features.

1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you register or sign in, we collect the information you provide, which may include your username, email address, phone number, full name, date of birth and gender. This is used to create and secure your account and personalise your experience.
Camera and photos
The plant scanning feature uses your device camera and, if you choose, photos from your gallery to identify plants. Real-time camera recognition runs on your device. When you upload a photo from your library for detailed analysis, the image may be sent securely to our servers to generate a botanical report. We do not access your camera or photo library without your permission.
Chat content
When you use the AI care assistant, the messages and any images you choose to share in chat are processed to generate helpful responses and may be stored to maintain your conversation history.
Shop and order information
If you make a purchase, we collect the details needed to process your order, such as the products selected, shipping address and order history. Payment is handled by secure third-party payment providers; we do not store full payment card numbers.
Usage and device data
We may collect limited technical information such as device type, operating system version, app version and basic diagnostic or crash data to keep the app stable and secure.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide core features: plant identification, AI chat, the shop and your account.
- To process and deliver orders you place in the app.
- To personalise content and remember your preferences, such as language.
- To improve accuracy, performance, reliability and security.

3. On-Device Processing
BigPlants runs its real-time camera plant recognition using machine-learning models stored on your device. This means live camera analysis can work without continuously sending your camera feed to our servers. Cloud analysis is used only for photos you explicitly upload for a detailed report, or as a fallback when on-device confidence is low.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with:
- Service providers that help us operate the app (e.g. hosting, AI processing, payment and delivery), under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms.
- Legal authorities when required by law or to protect our rights, users or the public.
5. Data Retention
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the app's features, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections, to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

- Access, update or correct your profile information within the app.
